Whether you’re kayaking, paddle boarding, rock jumping, or any other water activity, you’re gonna need a good pair of water shoes (aka wet shoes). Today, I’m going to review the SEEKWAY shoes which are one of the highest-rated pair’s on Amazon and also very comfortable water shoes.
Build & Features | Seekway
Like most water shoes, the seekway is unisex and comes in many different sizes and colors. While the sole and top material is stretchy, the sole is more rigid compared to other wet shoes on the market. But I actually consider the thicker and tougher sole a net positive.
Even though it’s slightly less bendable, the added sole protection makes it easier to walk on rocks which happen more often than you’d think with watersports. It also ensures protection from sharp objects.
As an example, me and my buddies were playing volleyball at the beach for a few days. In the group, I was the only one with water shoes and also the only one that didn’t get my feet torn by shells.
It also has adjustable laces, toe protection, and breathable material with quick-drying capabilities. Overall, I would say the build quality of this shoe is extremely good.
Comfort
I own two different types of water shoes and this one is much more comfortable. It’s nothing against my Ubfen water shoes because they’re great.
But the upper part of the Seekway shoes is entirely made of spandex making it more comfortable to wear than the materials most other water shoes are made out of.
Another reason the comfort stands out is it has a separate and more cushioned tongue (and yes, if you didn’t know, that middle top part of the shoe is called a tongue). Whereas, most other water shoes don’t have a cushioned tongue.
Drainage & Dry
So as you might know, water shoes don’t hold water. And the Seekway performance to drain water is very impressive. On the bottom of each shoe is 8 drainage holes that remove excess water from within the shoe.
But even more impressively, I was surprised by the speed of how quickly the upper breathable material dried when comparing it to my other water shoes.
Downsides
While the Seekway provides great build, comfort, and drainage; it does have a few downsides that I encountered.
- Like my other water shoes, it’s hard to swim with. However, I think that might be the case for most water shoes.
- The laces are a bit thin and the top lace lock comes off a little too easily. Yet, it’s pretty easy to put back on.
