Glen Falls Trail

Despite its brevity, the Glen Falls trail weaves through a peaceful forest, revealing the stunning natural beauty that characterizes this area of Tennessee. Tall trees create a verdant canopy, providing shade for hikers as they meander along the well-marked path.

One of the highlights of this trail is the abundance of boulders that dot the landscape. These massive rock formations offer not only a visual spectacle but also provide inviting spots for hikers to rest and take in the surroundings. The trail’s scenic diversity, from wooded areas to open spaces, adds layers to the hiking experience.

Adding to the allure of Glen Falls are the intriguing cut-out caves along the trail. These natural formations, created by the erosion of soft rock over time, offer a touch of exploration for adventurous hikers. While not extensive, these caves very unique!

Glen Falls culminates in a gentle cascade that, while not towering, possesses a quiet beauty. The falls create a serene atmosphere, inviting hikers to pause and appreciate the simplicity of nature.

However, during the dry fall months, it’s almost too small so you’ll probably miss it. I think the rest of the hike is much better than the actual waterfall. Most notably, the mystic path is the best part which you can see in the video below starting around 5:46.

The last thing I will say, if you’re visiting the area, Chattanooga is an amazing city! I highly recommend a visit after the hike.
