Another benefit to bodyboarding is it’s incredibly easy. Unlike surfing which takes hours of practice just to barely stand up, even beginner bodyboarders could start riding waves instantaneously.

Bodyboards For Adults

We decided to start off with, possibly, the highest quality bodyboard on the market. Let alone, it’s also the most expensive bodyboard on this list so don’t think all boards are this pricey. But if you’re looking for top-of-the-line quality without a budget, the BullyBoard is undoubtedly a top contender.

Don’t think you’re too big and tall to have fun! Made in the USA, this massive 48-inch body can hold very large adults up to 325 pounds. On top of that, it provides enough room for two people so you and your kid can ride simultaneously.

This bodyboard provides impeccable durability. Most bodyboards don’t possess handles. Yet, the BullyBoard offers dual handles making it easier to maneuver through the waves, kneel upwards while riding, and possibly even try to pull off some tricks. Overall, it’s surely one of our highest-recommended choices for adults!

Users Say: “Bought this as a gift for myself. Love it. Super fun and I take the kids on it too. They love it. It’s not scary to them to go surfing with aunty cuz they can hold onto the handles in the front. Shakahz.”

2. Bo-Toys

For good reasons, the Bo-Toys bodyboard is one of the highest-customer-reviewed on the market. It’s also wildly popular due to its immense value for an affordable price. Unlike the previous one, this bodyboard runs well below $100. But it’s still large enough for adults.

There are a plethora of reasons why we love it. This bodyboard is sizable at 41 inches, made with robust high-density polyethylene, and comes in one of four colors. Another beneficial attribute is the EPS core is constructed with heat lamination technology making it more resistant to impact.

This bodyboard is also very lightweight making it more mobile in the water. Considering its inexpensive price and compatibility with adults, it’s an incredible bang for the buck.

Users Say: “Paying as much as I did for the product, I had high expectations. Those expectations were met. This board is solid. It’s made of good material and upheld well against much abuse. Took this thing on two beach vacations so far, and there is no sign of deterioration or excessive wear. Great product.”

3. Morey Cruiser 42.5″

The Morey Cruiser is a spacious 42.5-inch bodyboard compatible with adults. Right off the bat, you’ll notice its fashionable design. It comes with an attached wrist leash. Therefore, if you crash in a wave, you won’t spend the next 10 minutes trying to find the bodyboard since it’s latched on your wrist.

With extremely tough construction, this board is able to withstand vigorous waves repeatedly without issues. We also believe the overall build quality outperforms the meager price. When it’s all said and done, it’s a great choice for adults at a competitive price. We primarily recommend it for beginners or intermediate!

Users Say: Good size board, appears to be of quality construction, much better than novelty beach shop versions. I decided to treat myself after all these years. I like the fact that it has “grab ridges” (for lack of a better term) along the side where your hands normally go. Morey Boogie has been around since I was a kid, and that’s a mighty long time. Speaking of time, time will tell if it is durable enough to handle a 6ft, 180lb rider on 6ft rollers for a week each year off the coast of Ocean City, MD. Treat the board right and it will treat you back. Anyone complaining of any delamination of the top cover has left their board in the blazing hot summer sun, guaranteed, whether they realized it or not. Done with the board, find it some shade! One star off for the durability uncertainty.

Users Say: “No complaints at all so far! Sturdy board. Perfect size and buoyancy. I’m a 5’6” female, 149lbs. I live in Florida and have been riding the waves on the east coast. Picks up a good speed. The black and orange are so good-looking.”

Aside from the appearance, this bodyboard has excellent build quality. It provides an HDPE slick-bottom for speed, an EPS core toughness, and an IXPE deck for enhanced resistance from impact; this bodyboard can last a very long time without issues.

The wrist attachable leash certainly comes in handy. If you have kids, you can get this board in a smaller size, as well. Overall, it’s a very dependable option. It’s also one of the highest-reviewed amongst users. We highly recommend it!

Users Say: “Great boogie board, sturdy quality material for the price. I like the lanyard that comes with it to help it attach to you while you are at the beach. It catches waves easier than some boards. I’m planning on making this board, my everyday bodyboarding board.”

8. BullyBoard Poi Boy 45″

Customized for larger adults above 225 pounds, the BullyBoard Poi Boy 45″ is an exceptional bodyboard. To start off, it’s made in the USA and provides a near-indestructible build quality. It supplies sufficient space with a 45-inch length and 24-inch width.

You might be wondering how such a large bodyboard like this one provides any form of maneuverability. But there are two primary factors that give it impressive mobility in the water. For one, it has a teardrop shape that supplements hydrodynamics. And the other reason is its high-density polypropylene build quality makes it drastically lighter than its robustness.

We know this bodyboard is a bit on the pricey side. However, it’s an impeccable investment considering you’ll only need to buy one. The construction quality enabled superior longevity. It also gives anyone who thought they were too big and tall to bodyboard the opportunity to have fun!

Users Say: “I’m 6′ 3” 300lbs and in my mid 40’s. My first experience with the board was at Oahu’s Sandy Beach 3-4 foot shore break (6-8 foot faces). Believe it or not, my first wave was an “In and out “. That was a good sign. I could not believe the ease of catching the wave followed by the speeds I could achieve. Great “buoyancy” for someone of my “stature”. I got to check out the “Original” Bullyboard that met my size. I felt that the board was just a little wide. When I paddled my arms rubbed the rails. I also felt the board was just a little too thick. My hands could not get a good grip on the rails which meant poor control. The Poi Boy width and thickness were just right. The price was fair. I’ve priced other “quality” large bodyboards, 44”-45” in length, here in Hawaii and they were over $200.00. The only complaint I have that the board arrived about 5 days late which made me nervous. I recommend the Poi Boy Bullyboard.”
